- Malta/Day 6 -

04/07/2001
Same procedure, get up, wake the others (or vice versa), buy bread, cheese etc. Have breakfast with everybody around David's big table. It's fun though.

"Catastrophe" was easy after all the work that Marcus had done on it. It sounds good and 'm really happy with it. It's weird and wonderful! Jacqui took loads of photos and you should see them soon on the web site.

The next song up was "Orange Juice", we had to do a couple of overdubs, Tom's voice and a shaker in the solo (Deko). This song is about ten years old and I had filed it under the category "good but not recordable", the guys proved me wrong or maybe it was a case of being in the right place at the right time!

We watched the Beatles Anthology on TV. The girls went off shopping and looking for a certain Marcel, Gomez and Rodriguez, who could give them more than a bunch of impotent, boring, old and fat musicians like us. They came back empty handed, but after a suspiciously long search!

Dinner was fun (see the pictures!) rice, spaghetti, mince meat, tomato salad, white wine and chocolate! After dinner we worked on "Family Song", watched "High Fidelity" and "Frankenstein" on Spanish Pay-TV, played Pool (Bob whipped Tom..... and then they played Pool!).

"Family Song" sounds really like it should, warm, a little country, Tom told me to tell you it has a great bass, and a lovely harmony vocal from Julia. We were thinking of not using her voice because she made us sound like shit, but we decided to be big about it!

Back in the jeep to the apartments and bed!
