- Basics /Day 2 -

11/03/2001 from 13:00 till 22:00
Location: Fear Factory
Weather: some sun and rain, around 14°C
Band: Bob, Marc, Moses, Tom, Sven is still missing, but may be here tomorrow. And Sebastian as engineer.
Ingredients: Coffee, ice cream, choco Leibnitz, cigarettes, four fernet brancas and a partridge in a pear tree.
Washing up: Marc

Listened to the different "I WANT EVERYTHING" versions, the first is a little bombastic, so that it will probably be the second one. Moses is gonna do "ORANGE JUICE" again and now it grooves better.

Started off today with "CATASTROPHE". It worked pretty easy, after we figured out the bass run at the start. Marc's Wurlitzer wasn't working so he just watched us record it. Then we decided to do the "FAMILY SONG" which took a while to get that laid back feeling. Marc played his ES 335, Bob just sang.

Food - This time we went back to the Turkish restauraunt we discovered last Friday. After dinner it's always a case of wondering if the next song is gonna work or not. Are we too full or just mellow enough for this tune? The answer was we were too full for "I WON'T LOVE YOU TO" even after pathetic complaints from the rhythm section that Bob shouldn't play rhythm guitar on this song ("cos he can't keep the beat!"), it still didn't work. I think the excuse was "we can't make a good recording because the song is shit", so I think it's better if we fade out now before we start throwing ashtrays at each other…..
